Under the chairmanship of Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Governing Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Shanha, abbot of Tam Chuc Pagoda, water procession ceremonies, incense offerings to pray to the National Thai people,... has been organized, retaining traditional Buddhist cultural values.

Vietnamese culture was established and molded around being a rice civilization, so the opening ceremonies of Tam Chuc Pagoda regularly organize a procession of water offerings to the Buddha to pray for the New Year of the stability, peace, favorable rain and wind.

The water procession sailed to the heart of Tam Chuc Lake, at a sacred location, with a tree in front of it, collecting water to bring back the Halls of Guanyin, Dharma Master, The Main Hall of Buddhas of the Three Times and Jade Pagoda.

In addition to the traditional Buddhist rituals, the opening ceremony also includes a unique spring art program that attracts people, Buddhists, tourists from all over the world.

This is an important cultural and religious event annually to introduce and preserve the cultural values, national traditions, festival’s unique features.
